Step 1 — Vehicle Details

This is a worked example — a cheap, reliable economy car often nets a better return than an expensive one. Edit any field with your own car's numbers, or just click through to see how the analyzer works.

Step 2 — Find Cars For Sale

Real, filtered searches on the marketplaces hosts actually buy from — pre-filled with your year, make, model, and location. Each opens in a new tab.

What to look for: How many similar cars are listed, their asking prices, and mileage. Note the middle of the market — that's your realistic "Purchase Price" for Step 3. (Turo rental comps — pricing and demand for this car once you own it — come later, in Step 4.)

Step 3 — Acquisition Costs

Step 4 — Rental Income

0%

In Austin, Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, Maui, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego & Seattle, Turo now pays a variable host share that climbs the further ahead a guest books — up to 100% on More Earnings for bookings 28+ days out. This calculator uses each plan's standard rate; bump your numbers up manually if you're in one of these markets and book mostly in advance.

Why is Free so generous? Most hosts who love running real numbers here upgrade on their own once they're managing a fleet worth tracking properly — we'd rather earn that than gate the tool that gets you there.

Fleet Portfolio

Every car you've analyzed and added, rolled up into one P&L.

Expenses & Payouts

Snap it, sort it, stay tax-ready. Log real expenses and Turo payouts as they happen.

Recurring Expenses

Car washes, trackers, storage — anything charged on a schedule. Autopay items log themselves silently each cycle; everything else reminds you when it's due so nothing slips.

Business settings, mileage, Turo report imports, and profitability reports — organized for when you (or your accountant) need them.

Business & Tax Settings

1099-K Threshold

Turo must send a 1099-K if you're paid over $20,000 and have more than 200 transactions in a year. Below that threshold you still owe tax on every dollar — you just won't get a form for it.

Standard Mileage Rate (2026)

72.5¢/mile for business miles Jan 1 – Jun 30, rising to 76¢/mile Jul 1 – Dec 31 (IRS mid-year increase). Log miles below — the correct rate is applied automatically by date.

Quarterly Estimated Taxes

If you'll owe $1,000+ for the year, due the 15th of April, June, September, and the following January. Confirm exact dates at IRS.gov — they shift for weekends/holidays.

General information, not tax advice — rules and thresholds change every year. Confirm specifics with a tax professional or IRS.gov.

Import a Turo Report

Upload the trip or earnings CSV you can export from your Turo host dashboard (Earnings → Documents) and we'll walk you through matching it to your fleet. No file handy? Log payouts manually on the Expenses tab instead.

Best results come from naming a specific car and asking a couple of things at once — ROI/maintenance plus alternatives, like the example above.
