Privacy Policy

The short version: you can use CarHostPro fully without an account (your data lives only in your browser). If you sign in, your fleet, expense, and tax data syncs to your account so it's backed up and available across devices. We don't sell your data, and we don't see your card details when you upgrade to Pro.

1. Guest use (no account)

Without signing in, everything you enter — vehicles, acquisition costs, expenses, payouts, tax settings — is stored only in your browser's local storage. It never reaches our servers. Clearing your browser data or switching devices will lose it unless you've exported a backup.

2. What we collect when you sign in

Account information: your email address, used for authentication (via Google sign-in or email/password) and account communications.
Fleet and financial data: the vehicles, acquisition costs, rental income, operating expenses, payouts, and business/tax settings you enter.
Receipt and expense photos: images you attach to logged expenses, stored as files (not embedded in your data export).
Imported reports: if you import a Turo payout report, its contents (trip income, dates, fees) are stored the same way as manually-entered data.

3. Where your data lives

Signed-in data is stored in our database (Supabase), tied to your account. Receipt and expense photos are stored in dedicated file storage, also tied to your account and not publicly accessible.

4. AI-generated insights

If you use the AI Insights feature, relevant fleet and financial data you've entered is sent to our AI provider, MindStudio, through our own relay server, to generate the insight. Insights are informational only — see the important disclaimer in our Terms of Service about relying on them for actual tax or financial decisions.

5. Payments

CarHostPro Pro ($9/month or $49/year) is billed through Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe handles that directly, and we receive only confirmation that your subscription is active.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns (which pages are visited, how often) so we can improve the app. It does not see your fleet or financial data. You can opt out using Google's browser opt-out tool.

7. What we don't do

No advertising or ad networks.
No selling, renting, or sharing your data with data brokers.
No third-party requests beyond Stripe (billing), MindStudio (only when you use AI Insights), Supabase (account authentication and data storage when signed in), and Google Analytics.

8. Exporting and deleting your data

Export anytime: download a full JSON export of your fleet and financial data from Settings.
Guest data: "Clear All Data" in Settings immediately and permanently erases everything stored in your browser.
Signed-in account data: because this data includes financial and tax records you may need for your own recordkeeping, we don't offer instant self-service deletion for a signed-in account. To request removal of your account and its data, email help@carhostpro.com — we'll confirm once it's done, typically within 30 days.

9. Children's privacy

CarHostPro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and note the change here.
